Key Responsibilities:

The location will be confirmed – Africa | French speaking country.

Responsible for maintaining a timely and accurate set of accounting records in accordance with the organisation’s procedures in order to protect the company assets and provide it with the ability to produce information suitable for management control purposes and audit. Assist and supervise the other members of the finance team as well other stakeholders to help deliver departmental and organisational objectives.

Responsible for all transactional activities related to the Accounts Payable processes, such as invoice processing, payment processing, supplier and GL reconciliations, and verification of vendor master data, controlled practices and query resolution within the different areas of responsibility to deliver a professional end to end service to customers.

-Day to day management of all accounting operational tasks across all areas of finance
-Assist Centralized Back Office (CBO), Operations, Projects and SCM warehouse in ensuring that Capex is capitalised accurately and tracked against budget
-Oversee the AP team to ensure that all payments to suppliers and landlords are made with appropriate support and are accounted for correctly
-Manage the billing process to the customers and the cash collection from customers
-Responsible for oversight across the company (including its subsidiaries, associates or branches, if and where applicable) of all tax matters (recording, accounting, compliance, advisory, payment and reporting) to confirm compliance in line with the relevant tax legislation
-Ensure that all information/schedules as required by other departments are prepared on a timely basis, reviewed and sent to CBO for posting/reporting
-Review and monitor the general leger postings and month end reconciliations
-Assist with cash flow/treasury management and working closely with CBO
-Review monthly management accounts as prepared by the CBO
-Interpret and communicate key performance indicators and other financial data to non-financial managers
-Support the design of reports and building of consolidation processes to deliver high quality business insights and trends
-Liaise with external and internal auditors as required
-Liaise with all relevant authorities and advisors
-Offer professional judgment on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance
-Provide inputs to the Manager (as required) relating to progress made within the department and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation
-Design and implement operational changes and provide associated user impact assessment

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or similar
-Certifications; ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA – a plus
-10 + years of experience in a similar role
-Experience working in a large organisation/public listed organisation
-Fluent French and good English
