Provide strategic direction and operational leadership for IT services including applications and infrastructure.
In charge of the IT strategy definition as well as the execution of the strategy for the area under their responsibility. Ensures alignment on IT architecture across business and IT leaders by communicating effectively with key stakeholders reinforcing the benefits of governance, architecture, and standards. The goal is to gain a complete understanding of business needs and effectively deliver solutions that meet these needs, follow markets trends and incorporate best practices.
Coordinate all the efforts to implement digital transformation strategy and support business growth in all Business Units securing the proper allocation of resources while ensuring the optimization of information technology
•Lead the local implementation and evolution of the Digital IT Strategy
•Ensure alignment on IT architecture across Business and IT leaders by communicating effectively with key stakeholders reinforcing the benefits of governance, architecture, and standards.
•Understand, influence and lead business areas to understand and efficiently use IT capabilities
•Lead the technical teams for solutions ensuring alignment with overall business and IT architecture as well as meeting standards for integration and data exchange.
•Drive IT roadmap definition in the market and ensure execution according to plan
•Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (functional, commercial and technical) to deliver end-to-end solutions that support the business objectives and ensure cost effective initiatives.
•Oversee execution of all programs, guaranteeing that the processes involved at each phase of the projects are performed according to the established framework and are successfully delivered within budget, time and scope.
•Communicate regularly with executive management and key stakeholders to ensure delivery and support of agreed initiatives.
•Provide support to local country teams to guarantee that every initiative has an adequate handover to the operation and includes babysitting and proper monitoring.
•Ensure that all proposed solutions are future proof, meet the strategy and policies, comply with local regulations in each country, are customer-friendly and follow industry best practices.
•Manage relationship with vendors for solution delivery and anticipate/manage any possible conflict.
•Lead a team of Architects and Project Managers providing them direction, motivation and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
•Ownership and optimization of IT spending and efficiency of business processes and platforms
•Manage budget including purchasing, budgeting creation (CAPEX and OPEX), and budget review.
•Act as Technical Leader for the Procurement processes of initiatives under responsibility; this includes RFP Creation, Vendor Evaluation and Selection as well as Contract Technical Annexes validation.
•Coordinate efforts with all the countries to share best practices, maximize resources, and standardize solutions.
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (System Engineer, IS Engineer, Information Systems Engineer, IT Engineer, Network Systems Engineer).
•Master’s degree in Computer Science related field or Business Administration.
•10+ years’ experience working in the IT industry
•Managerial experience in large matrix organizations having close interaction with senior leadership.
•Proven experience in successful implementation and leadership of various projects.
•Understanding of project management principles.
•Experience in people management in multi-cultural environments.
•Experience with Contracts Management.
•Fluent in Spanish and good English.
•Experience in Digital IT Strategy
•Strong knowledge and solid experience in Business Processes for Telco’s (eTOM Model preferably).
•Strong knowledge and solid experience in processes and applications (For telcos preferable).
•Strong knowledge and solid experience in Billing System processes and applications (For Telco’s preferably).
•Knowledge in developing and maintaining ITIL policies and procedures.
•Knowledge and experience in project management – very strong skills in Project Initiation especially in requirements gathering, understanding the level of detail required to proceed with any project, project estimation, planning and rapid mobilization.
•Good understanding of IT systems characteristics, features, and integration capabilities.
