Key Responsibilities:

Only candidates authorized to work in Madagascar will be considered.

Play a key role in the development of the finance team and the financial performance as a business partner to all areas of the business, working together to achieve the OpCo’s strategic goals.

Operational Delivery
• Executing the financial strategy of the Business and advising on ways to improve business performance
• Managing the financial controls and accounting procedures across the business
• Overseeing the accounting processes including Taxation, Cash Management, Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
• Ensuring full transparency over the financial performance of the business
• Providing advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs
• Effectively and clearly communicates potential risks in a timely manner
• Proposing action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained
• Supporting the CEO with the preparation of monthly and annual financial plans
• Interpreting and communicating key performance indicators and other financial data to the management team
• Coordinating production of taxation documentation
• Undertaking assignments assigned by CEO

Staff Leadership and Management
• Ability to work in a team
• Responsible for self-learning and development
• Ensure cohesive working with their functional area
• Accountable for meeting and prioritising own targets/deadlines
• Provide information to Manager on work accomplishments, individual/team challenges
• Lead team meetings and contribute on specialist/technical areas when required

Adhoc and Operational Meeting
• Work to achieve operational targets with significant impact on departmental results.
• Set up and manage adhoc meetings for day to day operational requirements as and when required

Escalations
• Resolve escalations as per defined escalation/resolution procedures

OpCo Operational
• Design and implement operational changes and provide associated user impact assessment

Performance
• Improve productivity and quality through leading practice initiatives

Reporting
• Provide inputs to the Managing Director (as required) relating to progress made within the department and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Masters Level an added advantage.
• Professional accounting qualifications
• Training Certifications such as, but not limited to: ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CFA, CPA
• At least 5 years post qualification experience
• Experience working in an environment with similar reporting & budgeting and legal obligations/disclosures
• Experience in all aspects of financial accounting and knowledge of international accounting standards
• Experience in Telecom or Engineering , a plus
• Financial Control Experience (SOX or process & control understanding)
• Detailed understanding of OHADA accounting
• Fluent French and good English
